Many movies have been made about the tragic story of the Titanic.
Arrogance and ignorance was definitely present during its maiden
voyage, which was Titanic’s last voyage. Many warnings were given, but unfortunately, the warnings were not
taken seriously. On April 14th, 1912 Titanic received six warnings that
icebergs were present in their perimeter. On the night of April 14th,
Titanic struck an iceberg and ultimately sank to the bottom of the
Atlantic Ocean.
From the comfort of their plush offices and five to six figure
salaries, self-appointed NGO's often denounce child labor as their
employees rush from one five star hotel to another, $3000 subnotebooks
and PDA's in hand. The hairsplitting distinction made by the ILO
between "child work" and "child labor" conveniently targets
impoverished countries while letting its budget contributors - the
developed ones - off-the-hook.
As
awareness of human rights increased, as their definition expanded and
as new, often authoritarian polities, resorted to torture and
repression - human rights advocates and non-governmental organizations
proliferated.
Nobody benefits when profit is eliminated from the economic equation. With the economy on the mend, a lot of people in the material handling
industry are expecting good times without having to make any changes in
the way they do business. Unfortunately, that means the continuation of
one particular practice that played a major role in getting the economy
in trouble a few years back.
According to David McClintick ("Swordfish: A True Story of Ambition,
Savagery, and Betrayal"), in the late 1980's, the FBI and DEA set up
dummy corporations to deal in drugs. They funneled into these corporate
fronts money from drug-related asset seizures.
What I want to discuss in this article is the basic idea of honesty.
The internet is a wonderful place to do business, but with the
continuous flood of spyware, malware, and spam, it can be a horrible
and very frustrating for the average user. I am amazed, but not
surprised, by the unethical practice of businesses using popups and
spam to sell a product. It isn’t surprising because the fact is that
those business practices work. Any of us that have worked in this field
for awhile know that traffic is king.
It’s true. You can’t really get what you want in life until you have
given it to others. Doesn’t sound like it makes much sense, does it?
How can you give what you don’t have? As you open your mind to the
possibility and ask this question of yourself, you allow opportunity to
come to you and knock at your door. Then you will find a way that it is
possible to give to others what you want, before receiving it yourself.
In the 25 + years of working with some of the best people in Business
Development within the power generation industry, we have found some
unique characteristics that separate these individuals from the rest.
It doesn’t seem to matter what organization they work for, or the
services, the client base or the economic climate.
I am sure that you have heard the phrase "safety in numbers" before. In
the animal world, creatures travel in groups because they instinctively
know that, when there are many of them, predators have less of a chance
of being successful during an attack. In most cases, if a predator is
successful, its victim is usually a sick or weaker member of the herd.
This is an important part of the process of natural selection and
maintains the process of survival of many species.
FBI
raids are certain to grab headlines. That can raise an ethical
question, though, if the possibility exists that the purpose of the
raid is for its intimidating effect as much as it is to grab
wrongdoers. Could this be the case in raids involving two e-currency
companies?
It
is here that terminal patients choose a course of action from the core
on one’s being transcending his or her belief in their creator
(religiously) leading to an active participation of one’s assessed
values (personal transformations) that includes their religious
influence, but it is not limited to it as well.
There is a growing interest in suicide. When people start looking for
more information about suicide, you'll be in a position to meet their
needs. This article is a brief description of much information on this
subject. Let's start with 3 levels to discern in the act of euthanasia. There are three levels to discern in the act of euthanasia:
We hear about law everyday whether we realize it or not. It's in our
Government, in our work, and even in our houses. One type of law is
Criminal law, which is also known as Penal law. This is "The body of
statutory and common law that deals with crime and the legal punishment
of criminal offenses."
The field of investigative reporting involves bringing to the fore
facts and figure that affect human interests and fair governance. This
means conducting in depth research, looking at public records, doing
extensive interviews, as well as checking and rechecking of facts
before publication. Whether print or television, investigative
reporting is essentially “watchdog” reporting. This means reporting
crimes, unfair practices, injustice, as well as other human interest
aspects like environment, disease, and so on.
Britain’s
urban centres have been invaded by ‘Face-to-Face Fundraisers’ over the
past few years. Termed ‘chuggers’ (shorthand for ‘charity muggers’) in
popular parlance, these brightly-tuniced purveyors of bubbly roadside
patter are the ambassadors of a growing economic parasitism within the
British charity industry and, like any parasite, will eventually
destroy their host if left unchecked.
Copyright infringement - How to cope with the rise of internet plagiarism.
When it comes to corporate identity and logo design, copyright
infringement has become an increasingly prevalent issue. As more and
more small businesses find they need a logo to stay competitive, the
demand has created a plethora of logo design firms that offer a variety
of services from stock clipart images to custom design services.
What can you do? Most of life is really one form of scam or another.
The biggest scams are being uncovered as scientists peel away the
layers of reality to reveal that nothing is really as firm as we
believe them to be. A piece of wood may look solid enough so that if
one were to be hit in the head with it, some form of damage would be
inflicted on skin of the head if not fracturing the skull itself. On
the sub-atomic level, the atoms that comprise that piece of wood have
another kind of reality.
